It’s that time again, for the weekly top ten countdown. This week’s topic is 2015 releases you meant to read, but didn’t get to. As always, Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely Broke and Bookish
Thor: Goddess of Thunder. I originally had picked up issues of this, and didn’t get around to reading them. Then I just decided to wait for the trade, and I still haven’t read it.
Saga. Again, this is one that’s still sitting my tbr pile, and it’s killing me because I’ve heard so many great things about it.
Finder’s Keepers by Stephen King.
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. I haven’t purchased this yet, even though I pass it all the time and stare at it longingly. I’ve heard good things about this and the cover just is beautiful.
Everything Everything by Nicole Yoon. Everyone’s read this–everyone but me, and I’m having serious feels about that.
I Was Here by Gayle Forman. I bought this, and kept intending to read it but never got around to it. My mom actually snagged it from me, read it and enjoyed it. I’m hoping to get to it soon.
Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone. My twitter/blog feed exploded with this book, and I got it in a package because I put it on my TBR list. I haven’t read it yet and it’s killing me because everyone seems to really enjoy it.
Winner’s Crime by Marie Rutkoski. I really liked Winner’s Curse and was really excited to get my hands on the sequel, but I just didn’t get a chance.
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. This is another book that exploded all of my social media. I need to get my hands on it.
Winter by Marissa Meyer. I’m so far behind on this series that I haven’t even thought about reading the most recent book.

These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner. I’m going to do it this time, I swear. I think every time the “TBR list” or “books I want to read” subject comes up, this book is somewhere on my list. I actually have it from the library, in my hot little hands. And I’m going to read it.
Possess by Gretchen McNeil. I read 3:59 by this author and really enjoyed the world building and characters in it. So I decided to pick up one of her other books. I’ll probably read her entire library, because I like her as an author–and I tend to obsess like that.
Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi. This is another book that almost always ends up on my ‘tbr top ten Tuesdays’ and I’ve yet to read it. I do however, have it from the library and I plan to crack into it very soon.
An Abundance of Katherines by John Green. See: compulsively reading an author’s body of work. I’m really hoping I like this one more than Paper Towns, but the preliminary glossing over of reviews on goodreads, I’m not too hopeful. They’ve already mentioned things about this book which struck a nerve with me while reading Paper Towns. I’ll give it a shot, with an open mind, but I’m not expecting much.
6. Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor
Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by April Genevieve Tuchokle. Sometimes I feel as though this book itself is wanting me to read it. Every time I go to a book store, it’s right there in my face. Even if I’m no where near the YA/NA section in B&N. Which is seriously weird. I’ve had a few friends tell me to read it, and have offered to loan it to me, but I just haven’t had the connection to read it. I really think it’s the reviews that are holding me back. On goodreads and various blogs–there’s such a huge love/hate swing that it leaves me wondering if I’d really like it, or just be frustrated with it early on and not finish it.
Throne of Glass (and series) by Sarah J. Maas. This is a book/series that I feel everyone has read. And everyone tells me to read, I just haven’t had the chance to get to it. I fully intend to read the first book, and probably the whole series by default, but it’s not one that’s seriously pressing on my list.
Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton. This isn’t on the list so much for “OMG READ THIS” But rather, “OMG COME BACK TO THIS”. I read the Anita books like they were illegal contraband in high school–we passed the tattered paperbacks around the female population of my school the way stocks are traded. I stopped reading after Narcissus in Chains book 10/22 holy crap. I stopped reading because of the severe shift in plot (lack thereof) and subject matter. I couldn’t handle Anita’s power of the week gained through sleeping with whichever male character that had working genitalia, so I set them aside. Recently, I’ve had a few friends tell me to try them again. I’m still strongly weighing my options.
“WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?! You’ve never read the Hobbit? How can you call yourself a nerd? You HAAAAAAVE to read it.” Welcome to #7 on my list The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. I think it’s really fun to see people’s expressions when I tell them I hadn’t read the LotR series until after I had watched LotR: Fellowship of the Ring AND Two Towers. In fact the only reason I had read those is a friend had told me she wouldn’t see Return of the King with me until I had read the trilogy. Don’t get me wrong, I love Tolkien and the world he’s created. I just cannot get into the Hobbit. I’ve tried multiple times, and it’s still on my TBR list and so it’s ended up on this list.
